Cerzoo’s activity spans from regenerative soil management to sustainable cropping of agricultural products, particularly fodder crops, to the circularity of resources inside the farm, to efficient dairy cow management, characterized by the preservation of welfare and the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, to optimized milk production in terms of yield and quality, to a proper handling and agronomic use of slurries and manures.

Agro-ecology sector:

agronomic research aimed at soil fertility and health, increase in soil organic matter content, efficient use of inputs (saving of energy and fuel, fertilizers, agrochemicals, irrigation water), biodiversity, integration of new digital techniques in precision agriculture (remote-sensing, satellite maps, variable-rate distribution of inputs, georeferenced cropping, quality monitoring).

Physiology sector
(cow and calf):

studies about transition period, dry-off, metabolic disorders, alternative strategies to antibiotics, health and growth of calves, digestive function, markers for the validation of animal welfare.

Milk quality sector:

research on chemical-nutritional, health and dairy qualities of milk; diagnostic assessments.

Feed sector:

research on quality and preservation of hay and silage forages; studies on mycotoxins and other natural toxins.

Nutrition, nutrigenomic, and epigenetics sector:

research on dietary supplements, comparisons between feedstuffs and varied diets; digestibility studies, optimization of digestive fermentation.

Zoo-environment sector:

research to minimize greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions, manure management and exploitation.
